So today I was having a conversation with God as I was driving back from the mall.  I was just babbling on and on, going from subject to subject as I was rolling down the road.  Somehow, I got on the subject of working hard and having faith in God.  

Here’s a very short side story (lol): Yesterday, I watched karaoke kid with my cousin.  In the movie, Dre’s instructor told him that “being still and doing nothing are two very different things.” I’m paraphrasing, but I really liked this and felt that this was true even with God!!

So as I was talking to God, I remembered this quote from karaoke kid.  I use to deal with issues when it came to having faith in the Lord.  Now, my faith has truly grown in God, but I feel that I took the scripture “Be still, and know that I am God” too literal (Psalm 46:10).  At that moment, I realized that I have been confusing “being still” with doing nothing.  God showed me that I have to do my part in order for things to turn out for the good.  It seems so simple, but it was like a realization for me.  Having faith is not just being still and knowing that God is going to do His part; it also has do with you meeting Him half way.  In the past, I had a problem with trying to do things on my own, sort of taking the role of God.  At that point, I had to learn that trying to do everything for myself is impossible and that I have to step back and let God do what He does best.  But I stepped all the way back, to the point where I am not doing my part.  For example, I did not study for my psychology test, but I have so much faith in God that I know that He will help me get an A+! lol um…I don’t think so.  How is God suppose to help me get an A+ if I did not even do my part by studying and getting familiar with the material?  I should have known better.  But because of that conversation I had with God today, I now know better.  I have to do my part, but have faith that God will surely do His! :)  Just wanted to share that.  God Bless! <3
